about us

Maggie Coudriet Siegel

Maggie is a Special Education Advocate and founder of FacingFutures, LLC. She can help with diffusing the stigma and confusion that often surrounds special needs kids. She can help you determine if your child is eligible for special education services and what special needs services and support your child requires and deserves. Maggie will also work to secure proper placements unique to your loved one. She brings many years of personal experience and she is here for you!

Ways Maggie Can Help

She takes the lead as you work as a team to meet the immediate needs of your child, such as securing available services and getting your child into the appropriate program.

Just as important, Maggie closely mentors you, the parents. By showing you where to go, what to say, and how to handle different situations, Maggie provides you with the resources, tools, skills and confidence that you need in order to become an effective voice for your special needs child.

Experienced and Knowledgable

Maggie has extensive knowledge of educational programs and options, both in district and out, in Connecticut. She has facilitated out of district placements, extended day services, and extended school year services. Maggie has particular expertise in the "after 21" or adult services area and can provide a "big picture" perspective to those with younger children.

Prior to advocacy, Maggie built a career in the advertising industry in New York City, working for major ad agencies and clients. She holds a BA in Journalism/Speech. A seasoned public speaker, she often addresses civic organizations regarding autism, advocacy and related topics.

Other credentials and notable achievements include:

  • Founding Parent/Advocate — PDD Support Group of Fairfield County, CT
  • CT Autism Spectrum Resource Center Advocacy Training Series and volunteer
  • Wrightslaw Boot Camp Advocacy Training (and ongoing education)
  • Member Advocate — Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. (COPAA)
  • Member — Council of Exceptional Children
  • Advancing Futures for Adults with Autism (AFAA) — Town Hall Symposium

A Note from Maggie

"I'm a special needs mom, too. For many years I have been advocating successfully on behalf of my own son, now in his twenties. I've been through just about every situation the special education process can throw at you. So, I know it's not easy navigating through the special education maze… especially without a manual!"

After years of advocating on behalf of her own son, Maggie saw that other parents like herself desperately needed a "voice of experience" and an ally who understood what they were going through.
